Handmade Chopping & Serving Boards

Handcrafted Character for Your Kitchen
Bring rustic charm and authentic craftsmanship to your home with our handmade chopping and serving boards. Each piece is lovingly crafted in our Frome workshop from reclaimed scaffold boards, transformed into beautiful, functional kitchen essentials that carry their own unique story.
Perfect for entertaining, everyday use, or as a thoughtful gift, our boards combine traditional craftsmanship with modern style. From breakfast in bed to charcuterie spreads, these boards are designed to look as stunning empty on your kitchen wall as they do piled high with your favourite foods.
Every board we create is a one-of-a-kind piece, showcasing the natural grain, texture, and character of reclaimed scaffold timber. These aren't mass-produced kitchen accessories – they're handcrafted works of art that happen to be incredibly practical.
Our reclaimed scaffold boards are carefully selected, planed, and sanded to create smooth, food-safe surfaces while preserving the authentic charm and history of the wood. Each board tells its own story through unique grain patterns, natural markings, and rich colour variations that only genuine reclaimed timber can provide.

Handmade Chopping & Serving Boards FAQ's

Yes, absolutely! All our chopping and serving boards are finished with food-safe Danish Oil, making them completely safe for food preparation and serving. The natural oil finish protects the wood while allowing it to breathe, and it's perfect for direct contact with food. We recommend regular oiling to maintain the finish and keep your board in top condition.

Both! Our boards are versatile enough for everyday chopping and food prep, but they're also beautiful enough to use as serving platters for cheese, charcuterie, bread, or antipasti. The reclaimed scaffold timber is durable and hardwearing, making them perfect for daily kitchen use. Just remember to oil them regularly and avoid soaking them in water.

The main differences are size, handles, and customization:
Chopping & Serving Boards (£39.99) are approximately 600mm x 210mm, come with our standard Georgian Oak finish, and are named after our team members for a personal touch.
Charcuterie Boards (from £20.99) are slightly wider at 600mm x 220mm and offer more customization – you can choose from five finishes, two handle styles (rope or cut-out), corner styles (rounded or square), and optional pre-drilling for wall mounting.

Caring for your board is simple:
Hand wash only – Never put it in the dishwasher
Dry immediately – Don't leave it soaking in water
Oil regularly – Apply food-safe mineral oil or Danish Oil every few weeks (or when the wood looks dry) to maintain the finish and prevent cracking
Store upright – Allow air to circulate around the board
With proper care, your reclaimed scaffold board will last for years and develop even more character over time. For detailed care instructions, visit our advice page.

Every board is truly one-of-a-kind! Because we craft our chopping and serving boards from reclaimed scaffold timber, each piece of wood has its own unique history and character. You'll find natural variations in grain patterns, colour tones, knots, and weathering marks that tell the story of the board's previous life on construction sites across the UK. These distinctive features aren't flaws – they're what make your board special and completely unique to you. No two boards are ever identical, so you're getting a genuine piece of functional art with authentic character that can't be replicated.
